孔子观水
孔子闲步至河边,俯首观水东流.子贡问曰：君子遇水观察,为什么呢?
　孔子答曰：
困他常流不息,且能普及一切生物,所以水好像有德；
流必向下,不逆成形,或方或长必循理,好像有义；
浩大无尽,好像有道；
流几百丈山溪间而不惧,好像有勇；
安放没有高低不平,好像守法；
　　量见多少,不用刮削,好像正直；
　　无孔不入,好像明察；
　　发源必自西,好像立志；
　　取出取入,万物就此洗涤洁净,又好像善于变化.
　　水有这些德处,所以君子遇水必观,细察他个种相像的意义,可以明了君子立身处世的大道,作用是大极了,安可以不看呢?又安可与看山一例观呢?
