sons and daughters say they never fully appreciated their mothers 1 it was too late to tell them. I am
blessed with the dear mother who is still alive. I 2 her more each day. My mother does not change,
but I 3 . As I grow older and wiser, I realize 4 an extraordinary person she is. How 5 that I am unable to speak these words in her 6 , but they flow easily from my pen.
How does a daughter begin to thank her mother for life itself ? For the love, patience and just 7 hard
work that go into 8 a child? For running after a toddler (学走步的小孩), for understanding a 9
teenager, for tolerating a college student who knows 10 ? For waiting for the day when a daughter 11 how wise her mother really is?
How does a 12 woman thank a mother for 13 to be a mother? For being ready 14 advice

Travels to the moon are being made every day. It is as easy to take a holiday on the moon today as it
was for the people in 1990 to take a holiday in Europe. At a number of scenic spots on the moon, many
hotels have been built. The hotels are air-conditioned, naturally. In order that everyone can enjoy the
beautiful scenery on the moon, every room has at least one picture window where everything imaginable is provided for entertainment of the young and the old.
What are people eating now? People are still eating food. They haven"t yet started to take on heir(继承) supply of energy directly as electrical current or as nuclear power. But many foods now come in pill
form, and the food that goes into the pill continues to come mainly from green plants.
Since there are several times as many people in the world today as there were a hundred years ago,
most of our planet"s surface has to be filled. The deserts are irrigated with water and crops are no longer
destroyed by pests. The harvest is always good.Farming, of course, is very highly developed. Very few people have to work on the farm. It is possible to run the farm by just pushing a few buttons now and
then.
People are now largely vegetarians. You see, as the number of people increases, the number of animals decreases. Therefore, the people have to be vegetarians and we are healthier both in our bodies and in our minds, and we know the causes of diseases and pain and cures for them, and it is possible to get rid of
diseases. No one has to be ill any more.

Learning experience happens to us throughout our lives. Not long ago I had one that I would like to
1 .
I was going to Marblehead with my sailboat team. The team was racing down the highway at 85
mph 2 we realized we were 3 . Luckily, we saw a rest area ahead. I had a brand-new $ 20 bill.
I was so 4 because I had never had that kind of cash before. But spending it on 5 seemed like
throwing it away. We all rushed into the pizza line. 6 I got a pizza and a drink, and walked to my
table. About halfway through the meal, I 7 I had not actually handed any money to the cashier . I
had just 8 out, and nobody had noticed. I felt terrible.
My conscience opened its mouth and swallowed me in one big bite. I couldn"t 9 over it. I just
couldn"t go back to the cashier and 10 for my stolen pizza. I was so upset that I 11 to give
myself the pleasure of an ice cream in 12 that someone would say "Hey, Jeff, why don"t you use the
change 13 the pizza instead of that nice, new $ 20 bill?" I was not so 14 of my cash now.
For the next two years, whenever I was 15 of the "Pizza incident", I would say to myself "Don"t
think about it any more".
I have learned two things from this 16 . Maybe I was a fool for 17 in to my conscience, and
being too stupid to appreciate a 18 pizza. But the real lesson is that even if you get away from what
you have done, your conscience will 19 up with you.
This reflects the saying "A coward dies a thousand deaths, a hero dies one." I was a coward and
have felt terrible about that incident at least a thousand times. If I had been a " 20 " and gone back to
pay for the pizza, I would have felt a little uncomfortable about it only once, or maybe twice.
