When something goes wrong, it can be very satisfying to say. “Well, it’s so-and-so’s fault.” Or “I know I am late, but it’s not my fault; the car broke down.” It is not your fault, but once you form the habit of blaming(责备) somebody or something else for a bad situation, you are a lose. You have no power and could do nothing that helps change the situation. However, you can have great power over what happens to you if you stop focusing on whom to blame and start focusing on how to remedy the situation. This is the winner’s key to success. Winners are great at overcoming problems. For example if you were late because your car broke down, maybe you need to have your car examined regularly .Or, you might start to carry along with you the useful phone numbers, so you could call for help when in need. For another example, if your colleague causes you problems on the job for lack of responsibility or ability, find ways of dealing with his irresponsibility or inability rather than simply blame the person. Ask to work with a different person, or don’t rely on this person. You should accept that the person is not reliable and find creative ways to work successfully regardless of how your colleague fails to do his job well. This is what being a winner is all about---creatively using your skills and talents so that you are successful no matter what happens Winners don’t have few problems in their lives; they have just as many difficult situations to face as anybody else. They are just better at seeing those problems as challenges and opportunities to develop their own talents. So, stop focusing on “Whose fault it is”. Once you are confident about power over bad situations, problems are just stepping stones for success. 小题1:According to the passage, winners__________.A.deal with problems rather than blame others | B.meet with fewer difficulties in the lives | C.have responsible and able colleagues | D.blame themselves rather than others | 小题2:The underlined word“remedy” in Paragraph 1 is closest in meaning to ________.A.avoid | B.accept | C.improve | D.consider | 小题3:When your colleague(同事) brings about a problem, you should _________.A.find a better way to handle the problems | B.blame him for his lack of responsibility | C.tell him to find the cause of the problem | D.ask a more able colleague for help | 小题4:When problems occur, winners take them as__________.A.excuses for their failures | B.barriers(障碍) to greater power | C.challenges to their colleagues | D.chances for self-development | 小题5:Which of the following is the best title for the passage?A.A winner’s Secret | B.A Winner’s Problem | C.A Winner’s Opportunity | D.A Winner’s Achievement |

All the definitions(定义) and facts in a dictionary or book do not convey what friendship is really about. It cannot be understood through 36 . Hot from the oven, the bread tastes more than the sum of its ingredients 47 there are the thoughts of the baker as her hands mix the flour or her 48 as she waits for the dough to rise. 49 and unmeasured, this is the ingredient that 50 . Just as the teacher hands out the spelling test, you see Jeff pull out a small piece of paper with a lot of small words on it. Jeff hides the note into his hand but soon takes it out again. While he"s taking the test, you see him looking back and forth between the teacher and his paper. There"s no mistaking it — he"s cheating. Cheating can happen in a lot of different ways. When people cheat, it’s not fair to other people, like the kids who studied for the test or who were the true winners of a game. Many people like the action of cheating. It makes difficult things seem easy, like getting all the right answers on the test. But it doesn’t solve the problem of not knowing the material and it won’t help on the next test—unless the person cheats again. Some people lose respect for cheaters and think less of them. The cheaters themselves may feel bad because they know they are not really earning that good grade. And, if they get caught cheating, they will be in trouble at school, and maybe at home, too. Some kids cheat because they’re busy or lazy and they want to get good grades without spending the time studying. Other kids might feel like they can’t pass the test without cheating. Even when there seems to be a “good reason” for cheating, cheating isn’t a good idea. If you were sick or upset about something the night before and couldn’t study, it would be better to talk with the teacher about this. And if you don’t have enough time to study for a test because of swim practice, you need to talk with your parents about how to balance swimming and school. A kid who thinks cheating is the only way to pass a test needs to talk with the teacher and his or her parents so they can find some solutions together. Talking about these problems and working them out will feel better than cheating. 小题1:The author thinks that when kids cheat in class, _______.A.it is unfair to other people | B.it does harm to their heath | C.teachers should punish them | D.teachers shouldn’t stop them at once | 小题2:Some students like cheating mainly because _______.A.the material in the test is very difficult | B.they want to do better than the others | C.cheating can make hard things seem very easy | D.they have little time to study | 小题3:The fifth paragraph mainly tells us ______.A.cheating isn’t a good idea | B.why kids cheat in the test | C.some kids can’t pass the test without cheating | D.some kids don’t spend time studying | 小题4:We can learn from the passage______.A.cheaters are often thought highly of | B.people show no respect for those who cheat | C.parents whose kids cheat are often in trouble | D.kids cheat in the test because of swim practice | 小题5:Those who cheat are advised to ______.A.spend more time on school than on sports | B.find good solutions instead of cheating | C.try hard to be intelligent rather than lazy | D.ask their classmates for good methods of study |
