Reading is an effective method for us to gain knowledge. But how should we read? Should we read selectively or extensively? Students take different views on this question.
    Some of them are in favor of the idea that we should read selectively. Firstly, with the development of society, knowledge in various fields is updated more and more quickly, so it is impossible for us to read all the books. In addition, selective reading is much more. efficient because of the limited time. Furthermore, there are many books that are filled with nonsense, which may do great harm to us.
    However, others hold the opposite opinion. They argue that the development of society needs the people with many kinds of knowledge. They believe that the more kinds of books we read, the more opportunities we may have to achieve Success. So reading extensively is better. 
Personally, although both opinions are reasonable, a combination of selective and extensive readings is the right way we are supposed to follow.
