They think it is reasonable and fair to carry out the policy, because the more the oil consumption, the more money the drivers pay, which can avoid the unnecessary driving They also think when the policy will help to reduce air pollution and benefit environment. In their opinion, fuel tax can raise the awareness of using oil efficiently.
However, others are against it. For one thing, they think China is a developing country, so we can"t do as the developed countries do. For another, the new fuel policy may increase the fuel price. Drivers will pay higher fuel consumption taxes and may be overburdened. Also, they hold the opinion that the new policy may cause more unemployment. As a result, there might be some other social problems.
In my opinion, every coin has its two sides. I think that it can reduce air pollution by raising fuel tax, while at the same time people will be loaded with more burden.
