     Diligence is the key to success, which means persisting in one"s work.The true meaning of diligence is
to use time carefully for the purpose of improvement, or to work persistently without wasting time.
     Laziness makes us useless.If we do not study and work hard we shall not be able to earn a living in
our community.There will be nothing we can do just because we have failed to learn anything by letting
the time pass unused.The life of a lazy man is of no use to himself and to others.The man who is too lazy
to work is the man who"s generally most ready to beg or to steal.Everyone when he is young should learn
some useful work.
     There is no better help to diligence than the habit of early rising, which just like all other good habits
ismost easily formed in youth.An English proverb says, “Lost time is never found again.” This means
that everybody must be diligent, and make good use of his time.Time is precious and is one of those many
things that cannot be purchased with money.One must study hard when he is young so that he may make
great progress, succeed in life and become useful to his country.
Lazy hands make a man poor, while diligent hands bring wealth.Therefore, we can say that diligence is
the mother of success.

    In this passage, we know that diligence is essential for us if we want to succeed.Of course, laziness
does little good to us.Besides, time is also important, so we should make full use of it and not waste it.
    Diligence may lead to success while laziness must result in failure.As is known to all, it is the hare"s
laziness that makes him fall behind the tortoise in the race between them.And it was his hardworking
on maths that made Chen Jingrun a Chinese famous mathematician.
     Take me as an example.My maths was so good that my teacher often praised me.And I felt I could
do well in every exam.Then I was so lazy that I did maths exercises less and less.Sometimes I even
didn"t listen to the teacher in class.Not until the terminal exam came did I realize my fault.But it was too
late.I failed and felt sad.Therefore, if we want to get success, we must be diligent.
