School education is very important and useful. The students both learn knowledge and get an
education. Yet, no one can learn everything from school. The scientists (科学家) , such as Edison,
Newton, Galileo a Einstein. didn"t learn everything from school. They learned a lot of knowledge
outside or in practice(实践) themselves. A teacher, even he knows a lot, can"t teach his students
everything.
The teacher"s job is to show his students how to learn, how to read and how to think. A good
teacher with rich experience (经验) in teaching can teach his students the methods ( = ways) of study.
Through these methods the students are able to learn and get a lot of things by themselves. Usually it is
very easy for the students to remember some knowledge, but it is very difficult to use it for problems.
If a teacher really shows the students the ability (能力) of how to use knowledge, it means the teacher
has learned lots of knowledge himself(or herself). The success(成功)in learning shows he or she knows
how to study.

Everything we see has the color. We see green grass and red apples. How can we see colors? We see colors when light hits our eyes. Dogs and any other animals can"t see colors. But bees can. They even see colors we don"t see. This helps them find flowers to fly to.
We sometimes use the names of colors to say things. People may say "see red "when they are angry.
Or you may say you "feel blue". This means you are sad. We use colors to tell us things, too. Red means to stop. Green means to go.
Some people can"t tell one color from another. They can see yellow and blue. But they can"t tell red
from green. We say these people are color blind(色盲).

many of us actually play a musical instrument? How many of us go to concerts? How important is music
in our lives? What kind of music do we like?
The survey above shows the musical habits of a few of our readers. Interestingly, fourteen people
out of the twenty questioned actually play a musical instrument, while only six people don"t. Out of these,
ten people practice their musical instrument between 0-3 hours a week and the other four between three
and six hours a week.
The best instrument to play is the guitar; eight people say it is their favourite instrument to play.
Another four people like playing the piano and two like playing the violin. Two people, however,
don"t like playing the violin or the piano as they think they are too difficult.
Pop concerts are always popular but, in this survey only eight people say they like going to concerts,
six to pop concerts and two to jazz concerts.
A higher number, eighteen, say they like listening to music as they find it relaxing. Only two people
don"t like listening to music at all. These results seem to suggest that we are more actively musical than
we think ...
