阅读理解。     Years ago, if a teenager had some problems in her life, she might write in her diary. Now a teenager with
the same problems might go onto the Internet and write about them in a blog (博客). In many ways, a diary
and a blog are almost the same. So, what makes a blog different from a diary?
      1.           Usually, a teenager treats her diary like a book full of secrets. Both diaries and blogs tell what
happened to the writer that day.
I have a little sister, and sometimes I go online to read her blog. She writes about things like waking up
early for swimming practice and not studying enough for her chemistry exam. 2.           Then, after I
finished writing, I would hide my diary in a secret place because I was worried that my sister might read it!
Because a blog is such a public way of writing, it has both good and bad points. 3.           If I am angry
with a friend during school and write something bad about her in my diary, she will never know. However,
if my sister writes something bad about a friend, that friend may read her blog and get angry. 4.
A blog has good points, of course. People choose to write in blogs because they know that their friends
will read what they write. If I am feeling sad one day and write in my diary, "Nobody cares about me", no
one will know about it. However, if my sister writes the same words in her blog, her best friends will
quickly reply and tell her how much they like her. Blogs help people stay in contact (联系) with their friends
and know what the people around them are doing.
If people are careful about what they write, blogs are a very good way to write about everyday life.
However, I still prefer my old diary! 根据短文内容,从方框内选出适当的选项填入文中空白处,使短文内容完整正确。

People are often killed while crossing the road. Most of these people are old people and children. Old
people are often killed because they usually can not see or hear very well. Children are often killed because
they are not careful. They have to look and listen before they cross the road.
A car, truck or bus can not stop very quickly. If the vehicle (汽车) is going very fast, it will travel many
meters before it stops. People don"t always understand this. They think a car can stop within a few meters.
The faster a car is traveling, the longer it takes to stop. It is very difficult for a person to know how far a car
is traveling.
The only safe way to cross the road is to look both ways, right and left. Then if the road is clear, it is
safe to cross. The right way to cross the road is to walk quickly. It is not safe to run. If people run across
the road, they may fall down.
1. Who are often killed while crossing?

2. Why are children killed when crossing the road?

3. Is it easy for a driver to stop his vehicle when he finds something wrong some meters in front of him?

4. What had you better do when you cross the road?

5. Even though the vehicle is going very fast, it can stop within a few meters, can"t it?

Recently I was walking in town when I saw a group of school students in uniform. I was shocked to
see that the girls" skirts were very short and they were wearing a lot of make-up. The boys looked very
untidy. Their shirts were dirty and some of them even had their shirtfronts open. I noticed too that some of
the students had pierced ears and-noses, which I don" t think should be allowed at school.
And the other day, I was riding on the subway when I saw some boys from a local school. I know they
were from this school because they were wearing the same uniforms my children. Instead of sitting quietly,
these boys were making a lot of noise, chewing gum in an ugly manner, and using bad language. All the other
passengers were looking at them and wondering how it was possible for these boys not to have any
self-respect (自尊). They were also giving their school a very bad image (形象), which is shameful (羞耻的).
I am a mother of two teenagers at school and I am worried that my children also behave like this and I do
not know about it. Do school students know what is allowed and what is not allowed when they are wearing
their school uniform? I think the school should be stricter with the students. And I think all students should be
taught how to be polite.
请依据该家长观察到的一些学生的行为,完成下列表格中的句子。

Parents are the closest people to you in the world. They love you just because you are their child. And
they would do anything for you.
Like a lot of middle school students, Zhuang Shuxia has a problem. She and her parents don"t get on
well.
"I really want to be my Daddy"s little girl. But it feels like he just doesn"t understand. He talks at me and
he doesn"t listen to me," said Zhuang, a Junior 3 student in Shijiazhuang, Hebei.
Do you and your parents also have problems? May 15 is the International Day of Families. On that day
people around the world give thanks for good things about their families and work on family problems. Well,
why don"t you all take a walk and have a talk on Saturday?
A study last year showed that 1,500 Beijing families had the same problem as Zhuang"s family. The
children 12 to 15 years old, didn"t like talking with their parents much. They weren"t happy at home.
Of course lots of kids feel that way. But you and your parents will be much happier if you can be friends.
Here are some ways to have a good talk with them.
● Find a good time to talk, like when you"re eating dinner, going out for a walk or watching TV.
● Tell them something you"re interested in, or ask them about their lives when they were young. They love
      to talk about it.
● Listen to them carefully, and look at them in the eye.
● Be honest (诚实的). Your parents will trust (信任) you more.

Dear Victor,
I am a college student. Nowadays games on the net are very popular with college students. Some of
my roommates aer very intererted in them. They not only play games in their free time, but also keep
talking about them at night when lights are off, and they regard games as part of life. I"ve begged (乞求)
them to give it up, but they wouldn"t listen to me. It has become a rather big problem. Should I report it
to our teachers or do something else?
                                                                                                                                           Ted
Dear Ted,
Drop it. Your roommates, as grown-ups, can do whatever they want with their time so long as it
doesn"t break school rules or violate (防碍) other people"s interests.
Playing perhaps gives these students relaxation (放松) from hard study. If they play too often, have
little time to study, and they will reap what they have sown, but you will not. Reporting to the teachers
would only harm your good name in your dormitory (宿舍). However you have rights to ask your
roommates to be quiet when you need sleep. If they aren"t angry with you, they will stop talking. But be
polite and friendly. Perhaps, in return, join them in a game or two.
