Do you get angry when your friends sing loudly while you are trying to work or when your best friend does not wait for you after school?
If you do, you need to take control of your feelings. Getting angry with others can cause you to lose friends.
Gary Egeberg, an American high school teacher, has written My Feelings Are Like Wild Animals to help you control your feelings. It tells how to stay cool when bad things happen.
The book says that getting angry only makes problems worse. It can never make them better.
“Getting angry is not a natural way to act,” the book says. It is just a bad habit, like smoking.
The book says you can control your anger easily … all you have to do is to tell yourself not to be angry.
The book gives many tips to help you if you get angry easily. Here are the top three.
●Keep a record. Every time you get angry, write down why you are angry. Look at it later and
you will see you get angry too easily.
●Ask your friends to stop talking to you when you get angry. This will teach you not to be angry.
●Do something different. When you get angry, walk away from the problem and go somewhere
else. Try to laugh.

Some people prefer to make friends with people who are very much like them while others prefer friends who are very different. There are advantages to both types of friendship. If a man chooses a friend similar to himself, there is no problem that they will share many common interests. They may have similar goals in life. This means that they will be able to help each other in achieving their goals. Two people who are very similar will feel comfortable with each other and may understand each other" s feelings better. Their friendship may be deeper and last longer.
There are also many advantages of making friends with someone of opposite interests and even character. In this type of friendship, the two people complement (补充) each other. If one is weak in some ways, the other is strong. While two people with similar goals may find themselves in competition, hut those who want different things can always support each other. Those who have different interests can introduce each other to new experience and so enrich (丰富) their knowledge.
A friend who is unlike me may be challenging, but a similar friend is familiar and safe.

Robot s 70 are not just trying to make robots look like people. For example, there are already robots w 71 in factories. These robots look more like huge arms. They do simple jobs over and over again. People would not like to do such jobs and would get bored. But robots will never get bored. In the future, there will be more robots e 72 , and humans will have l73 work to do. New robots will have many different shapes. Some will look like humans, and others might look like snakes. After an earthquake, a snake robot could help look for people under b 74 . That may not seem possible now, but computers, space rockets and even electric toothbrushes seemed i 75 a hundred years ago. One clear reason is that a well-chosen book can give you a lot of wonderful words, as long as you have a good dictionary, of course. Believe me; it’s far easier to get new words from a book or an article than it is from the TV or the Internet.
But another more important point is that books give you something that the Internet cannot. The general webpage (网页) is picture-heavy and the text is as easy to read as possible. While “easy” may attract (吸引) you, unluckily it’s not helpful for any long-term development of reading skills and the general language level. Because of that, reading on the Internet can’t take the place of reading books.
But perhaps the best reason is that just choosing what you read and doing it independently means that it’s something you do by and for yourself. You can choose what you want to read. It’s hard work, but you’ll find that what once seemed like a duty is now a pleasure.
