As with a single slit,the light going through a lens is diffracted.The amount of diffraction is usually negligible,but one effect is that parallellight entering the lens is brought,not to a point focus,but to a disk focus.The fact that with a lens we get a disk diffraction pattern instead of a point focus sets a practical limit on the magnification obtainale with a lens.

由于透镜上有一个裂痕（单缝）,光从这个透镜穿过的时候会衍射.这个衍射的量可以忽略不计,但是比较值得注意的是平行光穿过这个透镜的时候,不会聚焦成点,而是聚焦成一片（盘状的disk）.我们得到一个盘状聚焦而不是一个点状聚焦这一事实限制了透镜的放大效果.
部分是直译的,大致意思就是这样.有些不好翻译的就意译了.不要细抠单字的意思啊.
