What do you think would happen if people around us hated one another?In order to be successful we must have many good traits,of which,obviously,persistence is essential to success.If this character is not possessed then we won't succeed.
Persistence would be needed if we were to complete assignments,win a match,or even manage a project.If the ancient Chinese were not persistent the world's largest man-made structure - Great Wall - wouldn't have been constructed.They never gave up no matter how long it took just like the Olympic Champions never stopped practicing.If Na Li didn't train as much as she did she wouldn't have beat all the other top tennis players in the French Open.
However,if this trait is incorrectly used it might have a negative effect.For instance,If Liu Xiang hadn't quit the 110m hurdles race in 2008,not only would we have lost a great athlete but there would be one more pathetic cripple who had to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.Recently our neighboring countries are drilling for oil and gas in the South China Sea.If they keep doing like this,our navy will have to protect our sovereign territory without mercy.
All in all,persistence is a must in being successful.If we people have this important quality then the sky would be the only limit.It is the character within that will make a successful life or a bad one.
