”形近字"用英文怎么说?What do you call words that are spelled similarly?
英文同义字叫synonym,反义词叫antonym,同形字homonym ,同形异音字 heteronym 等等.那么型近字是什么呢?也应该有个什么什么nym结尾的专业词语形容这类词吧?
中文里形近字比如“栏”和“拦”,“粗犷”和“粗旷”.英文的形近字：corol,corrol拼写相像,发音意义都不同.再举例,personal和personnel,拼写与发音相近,但意思不同.再有comb,womd,bomb,tomb,拼写都是“形”同,音不同,意不同.这样的形近字,用英语里叫什么呢?甚至英语里有“形近字”有这样的概念吗?Don't tell me it's called "rhyming words",please...
This sounds like an easy question,but it drives you nuts,huh?貌似很简单,但是我金山词霸,好易通牛津词典,剑桥高阶辞典都查过了,and I ain't found nothing...
So,once again,I'm looking for a term which represents words that are spelled similarly,they may rhyme because their spellings are similar to each other,but this doesn't matter,as long as they look "alike",you know.So,is there anyone who could find out the linguistic jargon for this?
Actually,I don't really think such a term exists in English,and the Americans simply call them "rhyming words"...
