I work for a general hospital at the reception desk(接待处). My job is to tell people where they should go andwhich doctors they are going to see. I have to type a lot of letters and answerthe phone.
I start towork at 8 a.m. and finish working at 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Sometimes Ihave to work on Saturday mornings. We get cheap lunch in the hospital, the foodis very good. I usually have lunch with my colleagues(同事). Some of them are my friends. My boss is Mrs. Green.She is a nice and friendly person. She speaks quietly and pleasantly, but thereis strength(力量) under her quietness. Every person in thehospital knows of her.
We arealways busy, but I don’t mind. The work is interesting, and I enjoy it. I likehelping people, It’s better than my last job. I used to work in an office.Office work is boring. Working at the reception desk is never boring, but Iearn a bit less. Nevertheless we do have good holidays – five weeks a year!
