the DailyStep audio email lesson service because I noticed that when I started their English
course, my students" speaking and listening skills were much weaker than their reading and
writing skills. In my view, this is because education in school does not focus enough on
communication skills. DailyStep is designed to remedy this situation by offering more practice
in speaking, listening and vocabulary.
I am crazy about the English language and it is a real pleasure for me to see the
development of my students" language skills.
I majored in (以….为专业)law at university and then worked for three years as a
researcher and journalist for Sky television and BBC magazines. I decided to change to
English teaching because of my love of the English language and my wish to move into more
satisfying work.
Then I qualified (取得资格)as an English teacher in 1992. My first teaching job was at
a language school in Covent Garden, London, where I taught examination classes and
Business English . After two years, I moved to the Nippon Club where I taught General
English and Business English courses for 9 years. I also developed a unique course called
British Society & Culture, covering all areas of British life, such as politics, law, e
ducation & music. At the same time, taught Business, Financial& Law English in the financial
centre of London. My students included staff (工作人员)from banks and law firms.
As well as running the DailyStep website, I also provide in-company English speech
training for companies in London. If you have an important speech coming up and would like
some information about how I can help you, please email me at jane@dailystep.com.

How to Become a Better Student
Maybe you are an average student. You probably think you will never be a top student.
This is not necessarily so,however.Anyone can become a better student if he or she wants
to.Here is how.
Plan your time carefully.
When planning your week, you should make a list of things that you have to do.After
making the list, you should make a schedule of your time.First arrange your time for eating,
sleeping,dressing,etc..Then decide a good,regular time for studying.Don’t forget to
set aside enough time for entertainment.A weekly schedule may not solve all the problems,
but it will force you to realize what is happening to your time.
Find a good place to study.
Look around the house for a good study area.Keep this place, which may be a desk
or simply a corner of your room, free of everything but study materials. No games,
radios or TV!When you sit down to study, concentrate on the subject.
Make good use of your time in class.
Take advantage of class time to listen to everything the teacher says.Really listening in
class means less work later.Taking class notes will help you remember what the teacher says.
Study regularly. When you get home from schools,go over your notes.Review the
important points that your teacher has mentioned in class. If you know what your teacher is
going to discuss the next day, read the material. This will help you understand the next
class. If you do these things regularly, the material will become more meaningful, and you
will remember it longer.
Develop a good attitude about the tests. The purpose of a test is to show what you
have learned about a subject. They help you to remember your new knowledge. The world
won’t end if you don’t pass a test,so don’t be overly worried. There are other methods that
might help you with your studying. You will probably discover many others after you have
tried these.

or Michael Jordan.Science is all around us. it is everywhere. reaching everything that we do.The "we"
in that last statement includes children.Children that understand how science plays a role in our everyday

these games has science behind it.
Children are by nature curious (好奇的) as they feel out the world. trying to make sense of what is
around them.Science feeds that curiosity that they have.It is a hunger that needs to be encouraged and
satisfied.Finding these toys is not as hard as one would think. To make sure that you get good quality toys. visit science toy shops online. These are the best places to find unique (独特的) science toys such as 3D
space projectors. or Hydro Greenhouses.
Help your children appreciate the world around them by understanding the world around them. This
way. they understand how we are all connected together.Children will not only question the world. but
be able to come up with answers to those questions on their own.Science is life.

parents end up admitting that they do it, according to Dr Kenneth Hardy."All parents have favorites, "
he believes.
Hardy said children were often aware of it, too.The kids didn"t hesitate to nod when asked whether
their mother favored one."If you ask two children from the same family which one is the favorite and
both point to themselves, there"s no problem, " he says."If both kids point one way, you know you
have a problem."
"It seems that she doesn"t love me, " Jamie started to say when he was asked if his mother loved
him, and then corrected himself, "She does love me, but she seems to like Chris more." Their mother
said she loved both boys, but sometimes found that Jamie"s complaining could make her dislike him."I
don"t think with Chris I ever have that same feeling."She also said she found Chris more lovely.
Like the other mothers, Dianne Ely said she felt guilty when she realized how much she was favoring
one of her children. She thought it was just not right to treat her children differently.
Like Jamie, Morgan Johnson is aware that__________in her family."They don"t like me that much, "
Morgan said."It doesn"t make me feel angry, but it makes me feel sad, "she added.
But_Hardy_said_parents_should_keep_in_mind_that_each_of_their_children_had_good_and_bad
_qualities.The most important thing, Hardy said, was for parents to admit the favoritism."It"s not a horrible
thing for a parent to look at herself in the mirror and say, "You know what, I do like one more than the
other."I think that"s a good sign, and a good healthy first start."
