Last Friday, we held a class meeting about how to protect the Earth. The Earth being the planet that supports our lives, we should pay great attention to our daily behaviors to protect it.
First, we should save water and electricity by turning off the tap and electric facilities as soon as we don’t use them. Second, we should take good care of the flowers ，grass and trees as well 。Third ，we should never litter。Last but not least ，we should avoid using plastic bags 。Instead ，we"d better use environmentally-friendly bags 。In a word ，only if we make a joint effort can we protect the earth and create a safe and green environment for us to live in 。

It is exciting to visit different places. As you travel, you will see beautiful sceneries typical of the region. Besides, you can meet and make friends with people of different colors and races. Today people are so fond of traveling that tourism has become one of the developing industries in most countries.
Recent years have seen a tendency in China that tourism is growing faster. According to a recent survey made by some experts, about 47% urban residents travel regularly, and 28% rural residents also make their tour across the country. The survey also shows that more people are interested in tourism, and will join the army in the future.
Facing this tendency, we can"t help exploring some underlying factors that are responsible. In the very first place, with the policy of reform and opening up, Chinese people"s living standard has greatly been improved, and therefore, most of them can afford to travel around. What"s more, it is believed that people now take a more positive attitude to tourism. In addition, tourism facilities are becoming better and better. For example, transportation develops fast, and many scenic spots are available now.
Though there are still some problems with tourism, I personally believe that tourism should be playing a key role in our life. I also hope that our government will make policies to create a better environment for tourists.

Half of my summer vocation has passed. It"s supposed to be the time for me, a senior- one student, to relax, read novels, chat with friends and, anyway, not to worry about getting up at 7 am for class.
Even before the vocation, I had been arranged to attend different "enrichment" classes to improve my main subjects. My mum did ask for my opinion whether I would like to go to such classes. But could I refuse? My negative reply would cause a long persuasion, which I would not face.
Besides, the teachers made summer homework lists as we were sent off for vocation. The reason sounds persuasive -- to keep us studying during the long break so we wouldn"t forget our lessons.
I found that the joy of my summer vocation had been stolen. But do I blame my mum or my teachers? Of course not. Though I don"t like listening to my mum"s lessons about society competition, I still understand that I should do well in study. What bothers me is that I don"t feel like sitting in the classroom focusing my mind on the teachers" lectures. My mind is staying outdoors, tasting the freedom of the blue skies, the power of sunshine and the comfort of gentle wind....... not only scores or certificates.
