Dear Editor,
I’m writing to tell you opinion about water saving.
Water is important. We, as well as animal, cannot live
without water and neither agriculture or industry can go
without it. Yet it seemed water is becoming less and less.
Many countries in the world find we don’t have enough water.
To deal with a problem, I think, we should first go all
out to plant trees though trees will help save water. Next, no
drinking water should be left running. Third, we should find
ways to reuse the water using in washing, especially bath
water for which is quite a lot, and that will save much water.
Sincerely,
Li Hua

In many parts of the world, cars play an important role in daily life and many societies would not exist without them. 1 But this is the prediction made by a team of transport researchers who are taken seriously, not only by government but also by car manufacturers.
The Human Science and Advanced Technology Institute at Loughborough in the UK is part of an international research program. 2 That will mean much saving, no accidents and better use of roads. The super-intelligent car in the future will drive itself. 3 Instead, we will have a choice of cars and change them as frequently as we change our clothing.
According to Dr. David Davis, who leads the research team, these predictions are based on the rising cost of the car culture, which had blocked up our cities, polluted our air, and caused more deaths than both world wars put together.
Davis says, cars will be fitted with some intelligent devices(装置) to regulate(调节) the distance between one car and another. 4 computers are much safer drivers than people, so cars in a road train will be able to drive much closer together than cars driven by people.
By 2010, Dr. David Davis believes, car technology will give motorists a clear view of the road, whatever the weather conditions, by projecting an image of the road ahead on to the car’s windscreen. 5 Cars will be connected by an electronic tow bar to the car in front to form “road-trains”. “The front vehicle in such a train burns the normal amount.” says Davis. “but all the others in the train would burn about ten percent of the normal amount, and so produce about ten percent of the pollution.”
A.The team there believes that by 2030 all cars will be computerized. |
B.They believe that cars will become more important in 20 years. |
C.And it will not be owned by one individual. |
D.And by 2030, cars will travel in line, linked to each other electronically. |
F. Every driver will use less fuel in the car he owns.
G. The car will automatically speed up, or slow down, to match the speed of the car in front.
Millions of people all over the world use the word OK. In fact, some people say the word. OK means all right or acceptable it expresses agreement or approval.
___1___ .Some people say it came from the Native American Indian tribe known as the Choctaw. The Choctaw word “oken” means the same as the American word “okay”. Experts say early explorers in the American West spoke the Choctaw language in the 19th century.

__3__ The organization supported Martin Van Buren for president in 1840. They called their group the OK Club. The letters were taken from the name of the town where Martin Van Buren was born--- Old Kinderhook, New York.
Then there is the expression A-OK. It is a space-age expression. It was used in 1961 during the flight of astronaut Alan Shepard. He was the first American to be launched into space. His flight ended when his spacecraft landed in the ocean, as planned. Shepard reported, “Everything is A-OK.”__4__ One story says it was first used during the early days of the telephone to tell an operator that a messa ge had been received.

Last weekend we went mountain-climbing.Even the heavy rain in the morning could
not prevent us go.Setting off very early, we went along an extreme narrow road, all in
high spirits. On every side of the road were green fields and some farm house. We could
hear the sound of the rain and our footsteps mixing with our laughter. At noon we
reached top of the mountain. That surprised us most was the beauty of the scenes
there. After having a short rest and sharing with the food we had brought, we started
going down.It rained even harder. We are wet to the skin, and we still sang and
laughed happily.
