The Internet is many different networks around the world. A network is a group of computers put together. These networks joined together are called the Internet.
Maybe that doesn’t sound interesting. But when we’ve joined the Internet, there are lots of things we can do. We can find lots of interesting information on the World Wide Web(www). We can use the Internet instead of a library to find all kinds of information for our homework. We can find information about our favourite sports or film stars and do shopping on the Internet. We can also send messages to other people by e-mail. It is much cheaper and quicker than calling our friends or sending a letter.

parts of the face change shape as we get older, but ears do not change their shape. They only change in
size.
Reading people"s character from their ears is an old science. In very old times people thought that a
person with big ears had a good and generous character. They thought that a person with pale (nearly
white), small ears was dangerous. They also thought that the shape of the ear showed whether a person
was musical or not. Today, too, many people believe that the size and the shape of the ear help you know
if a person is musical.
Ears are all different, and each characteristic has a meaning. Next time when you look at a person, see
if his ears are large or small. Look at the lobes (the lowest part of the ear). Are they attached (连着) to
the face? Ears that are always red mean a person may easily get angry, or he / she just has high blood
pressure (高血压). Ears that are always cold and pale mean a person has a nervous character. And a big
inside hole of the ear means a person is musical.
B. big ears
C. small ears
D. pale ears
B. musical ears
C. ears which related to characters
D. our faces and ears
A. ears
B. hair
C. eyes
D. teeth
B. white ears
C. small ears
D. ears with a big inside hole
B. get smaller
C. get colder
D. get redder
them again, they slowly become strong again. Everybody knows that. Yet many people do not seem to
know that memory works in the same way.
When someone says that he has a good memory, he really means that he keeps his memory in
practice by using it. When someone else says that his memory is poor, he really means that he does not
give it enough chance to become strong.
If a friend says that his arms and legs are weak, we know that it is his own fault(过错). But if he tells
us that he has a poor memory, many of us think that his parents may be blamed(责 备), and few of us
know that it is just his own fault. Have you ever found that some people can"t read or write but usually
they have better memories ? This is because they cannot read or write and they have to remember things,
they cannot write them down in a small notebook. They have to remember days, names, songs and
stories, so their memory is the whole time being exercised.
So if you want to have a good memory, learn from the people: practise remembering things in a way
as other people do.
B. he doesn"t use his memory often
C. his parents haven"t a good memory
D. he doesn"t use his arms or legs for some time
B. they will become stronger
C. they become weak but they slowly become strong again
D. they become weak and won"t become strong until you use them again
B. Your memory, like your arms or legs, becomes weak if you do not give it enough chance for practice.
C. Don"t learn how to read and write if you want to have a better memory.
D. A good memory comes from less practice.
B. his parents" fault
C. his teachers" fault
D. his grandmother"s fault
B. how to read and write
C. how to have a good memory
D. how to learn from the people
