A city in South Korea has added a new attraction to its cultural landscape(景观)—the world’s first “Toilet Theme Park”. The Restroom Cultural Park in the city of Suwon is proving a huge hit with locals and tourists alike. The park was built to memorize the former city mayor Sim Jae-duck, known as “Mr. Toilet”. He believed the toilet is a very important place and full of culture. Visitors to the park can enjoy its toilet- bowl- shaped exhibition hall as well as lots of bronze statues(铜像) in all kinds of toilet positions. They can even sit on Mr. Kim’s original toilet, which includes a full-length glass door that mists(蒙上薄雾) up when it is being used. Suwon has become well known because of the promotion(宣传) of toilet culture. The city attracts toilet- related artwork from around the world to its galleries. It famously hosts the Golden Poop Art Festival- a celebration of one of the calls of nature. The city also lists lots of its own public toilets as tourist attractions on its website. Sim Jae-duck’s toilet-shaped house, now a museum, should be the must-see for enthusiasts. It’s said that Mr. Sim was born in the loo of his mother’s house, so he loved toilets very much. In one way of thinking, failure is part of life. In way, failure may be a way towards success. The “Spider-story” is often .Robert Bruce , leader of the Scots in the 13 th century, was hiding in a cave from the English. He watched a spider a web. The spider tried to reach across a rough in the rock. He tried six times without success .On the time he made it and went on to make his web. Bruce is said to have been encouraged by this and to have gone on to the English . Edison , the inventor of the light bulb, made models that failed before he found the right way to make one. Once he was asked he kept on trying to make a new type of battery when he had failed so often, he replied, “Failure? I have failure. Now I know 50,000 ways it won"t ”. So what? First, always think about your failure. What caused ?Were conditions right? Were you in top from yourself? What can you change? So things will go next time. Second, is the goal you"re trying to reach the right one? Try to do some about what your real goals may be. Think about this question. “If I do succeed in this, where will it get me?" This may help you prevent failure in things you shouldn"t be doing any way. The third thing to keep in about failure is that it"s a part of life. Learn to “live with yourself" even though you may have .

What should you think about when trying to find your career? You are probably better at some school subjects than others. These may show strengths that you can use in your work. A boy who is good at mathematics can use that in an engineering career. A girl who spells well and likes English may be good at office work. So it is important to know the subjects you do well in at school. On the other hand, you may not have any specially strong subjects but your records show a general satisfactory standard. Although not all subjects can be used directly in a job, they may have indirect value. A knowledge of history is not required for most jobs but if history is one of your good subjects you will have learned to remember facts and details. This is an ability that can be useful in many jobs. Your school may have taught you skills, such as typing or technical drawing, which you can use in your work. You may be good at metalwork or cookery and look for a job where you can improve these skills. If you have had a part-time job on Saturdays or in the summer, think what you gained from it. If nothing else, you may have learned how to get to work on time, to follow instructions and to get on with older workers. You may have learned to give correct change in a shop, for example. Just as important, you may become interested in a particular industry or career you see from the inside in a part-time job. Facing your weak points is also part of knowing yourself. You may be all thumbs when you handle tools; perhaps you are a poor speller or cannot add up a column of figures. It is better to face any weakness than to pretend they do not exist. Your school record, for instance, may not be too good, yet it is an important part of your background. You should not be apologetic about it but instead recognize that you will have a chance of a fresh start at work. 小题1:We can infer from the first paragraph that ________.A.learning better at school shows power in your job | B.the better you are at school subjects, the more helpful they are in your career. | C.learning each subject well is an ability in many jobs. | D.we should think about how to find our career | 小题2:From the passage we learn that if a student’s school performance is not good, he will _____.A.have no hope in his future work | B.be hopeful to find a suitable job | C.regret not having worked harder at school | D.have an opportunity of a new beginning in his future work | 小题3:All the subjects may have direct value for job hunting except _________.A.mathematics | B.English | C.history | D.technical drawing | 小题4: The passage mainly discusses ___________.A.The relationship between school performance and career | B.how to get a job | C.How to show strengths in your work | D.working experience and knowledge at school |

On my first holiday in America, I went to a large supermarket to buy breakfast. And although this was an English-speaking country that I knew well through films and TV, I was amazed. Everything came in unfamiliar (不熟悉的) packaging (包装),with things I"d never heard of, Even things as simple as corn chips were strange, in different colours including black and purple. Tilse, who works for Nutrition Australia, first realized there was a problem six years ago. After teachers at her children"s school quietly shared their opinions about the diets, she knew something about it. "They cared for what many children were bringing to school for lunch," she said. "Mostly packaged foods, such as chips are not healthy." Tilse said, “They"ve managed to escape war areas and get to Australia, only to face the very real risk of running into heart disease. All because they"re making wrong choices about food." "Before I came to Australia, I"d never seen a sandwich," said Joseline Ntunzusenimanima, a 33-year-old mother of seven from Burundi in East Africa. "There were so many fruits I had either never seen or not been able to buy for many years. I was in shock for the first four days after I arrived.
